Massage Test Prep Study Guide for National Exam and MBLEx eBook David Merlino
I'm currently studying to take the MBLEx exam and one of the main reasons I purchased this book was because it advertises itself as streamlining the study process; eliminating all the excess information and focusing on only that information most likely to be found in the MBLEx exam, thereby making the study process easier and more efficient, and greatly increasing one's chances to pass the MBLEx the first time. Unfortunately, this book is anything but streamlined. As with most study guide books, this book starts out with tips for the best ways to study for, and take, the MBLEx exam. Without any preamble, It then launches into a long series of fill in the blank questions (easily over 200) on all areas of massage (history, A&P, pathology, business, etc). After this section, the book then breaks down all the those areas of massage, and in answering the previous fill in the blank questions, does a very good job of breaking down those different areas of massage, in a very organized and concise manner, that the MBLEx will test for. This section makes for a great study guide and is the reason I rated this book 3 stars, and not fewer. After this great study guide section, the book then launches into the MBLEx style, multiple choice, practice exam questions, and this is where the book goes completely off the rails of attempting any semblance of streamlining and goes directly to overwhelming. Keep in mind the actual MBLEx exam consists of a total of 125 questions, with a time allotment of 2 hrs & 45 minutes to complete the exam. This book breaks the practice exam into four sections, consisting of the following number of questions, FOR EACH SECTION: Massage & Business - 335 question; A&P - 800 questions; Pathology - (wait for it ...) 1,100 QUESTIONS (!!!! Is that nuts or what?!?); Kinesiology - 605 questions. I was overwhelmed, and stressed out, just by the shear number of questions! If one were to actually answer each of these practice questions, that person would have no time to study! I'll use the study guide section of this book, but for practice test taking purposes, I'll be using other books & material that actually are streamlined and concise. And one last thing, if you do order this book, I would not recommend buying it as a download to your (Fire) Kindle, as I did, due to the fact that the practice exams are so extensive that it's very time consuming, and frustrating, to attempt to slide back and forth through the kindle pages to check your answers to the questions. With an actual book, it would be much faster, and stress free, to flip back and forth through the actual pages of the actual book. I hope you found this review helpful, and good luck on taking your MBLEx exam.Product details

This book is great. I had several questions and emailed the author. He responded the same day with excellent advice. Also, following along with the videos is really helpful. I highly recommend it.
